My name is Suzanne Myers and I am an American tour guide living in Florence, Italy. Like many others, I fell in love with the city when I spent my junior year of college here. I had never experienced a place that so thoroughly charmed me with its intoxicating mix of beauty and boisterousness. I guess you could say that when I came to Florence, I knew I was home.
After earning my B.A. in art history from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, I moved back to Florence for graduate school. I now have my master’s degree in Italian Renaissance art history from Syracuse University and am working as a field studies lecturer for Syracuse University’s study abroad program in Florence.
I have also completed an 800-hour course and a rigorous set of exams to become an official tour guide for the city of Florence and its surrounding province. I have a license issued by the Italian government which allows me to conduct tours on the artistic, historical, and cultural background of the city.
There is nothing I love more than sharing Florence with others and really making its complex and wonderful history come to life. I enjoy planning tours for everyone from the beginner to the seasoned art lover and my goal is to give visitors the most amazing experience possible.
