Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only give tours in August?

Although having a name like Florence in August may suggest that I only give tours one month out of the year, I actually give tours year-round. I chose the name because it’s my favorite month of the year and my favorite city in the world.

How far in advance should I book my tour?

It’s a good idea to book at least a month in advance, especially for a tour in the high season (April through October). However, if you need a last-minute guide, don’t hesitate to contact me. I will do my best to fit you into my schedule!

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No, I do not require a deposit.

What is your cancellation policy?

I kindly request that you notify me 24 hours in advance.

Is there a dress code if we’re going into churches?

Yes, most Italian churches require that your shoulders and knees are covered.

Is the tour wheelchair or stroller accessible?

While many of the major museums and sites in Florence are wheelchair and stroller accessible, please let me know about any mobility issues you may have and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Am I allowed to take photos on the tour?

Florence is increasingly becoming a photo-friendly city. You can now take photos in all of the state-run museums including the Uffizi and the Accademia as well as most of the churches. However, please keep in mind that flash photography is generally not allowed.

What if it rains?

Grab an umbrella! Florence is still perfectly lovely and enjoyable in the rain.
